REVIVE, RESTORE, RENEW - Yoga and Pilates

Tues/Thurs 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. with Amy Bishop


RESTORATIVE/YIN

This is also known as the decadent desert of yoga. It is a floor-based practice, where we encourage our bodies to completely relax using props to facilitate the process; this allows a deep sense of release in the muscles, connective tissue and joints. We hold a stretch from 3 to 15 minutes, all the time connecting to our breath and using our longer exhalations to let go of long held tension in our bodies. The challenge is your mind, we are not used to being still. But it is in this stillness that true healing and transformation take place. You will leave feeling like you have had a massage. This is ideal for any body and in particular is great for those recovering from injury, illness and exhaustion.

In this class we use Certified Therapeutic Grade essential oils, which offer many healing benefits to our bodies.


GENTLE YOGA

This class is suitable for all bodies and is designed for you to go at your pace. Here you will be taken through a gentle sequence of poses that encourages strengthening, opening and correct alignment for your body. You will be encouraged to connect to your breath, which will invigorate your body, and also invite a deep sense of calm. We encourage you to listen to your body and use modifications where needed, as everyone’s range of motion is different. This class is great for overall body toning, strength and flexibility. Regular practice will allow you to see great results, from improved balance to strength and flexibility.


YOGA NIDRA

Restorative class rooted in the mind-body connection. One of the key definitions of Yoga is the cessation of the mind chatter…quieting the mind. We will learn how helpful our breath can be in facilitating a quiet mind. In cultivating this mind-body connection class will include centering breathing exercises, guided meditations, meditation, self-inquiry, gentle yoga and Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a practice that restores mind, body and senses to our natural way of being, which grounded in a sense of “Well being” leaving us feeling restored and at peace.


PILATES

This is all about core strength and flexibility. You will lengthen and strengthen, it is a wonderful compliment to yoga and suitable for all bodies and levels.


ATHLETE STRETCHING

We offer private group classes for coaches who would like to incorporate a deep stretching class into their conditioning training for athletes. Stretching is a great way to keep your athletes in condition and help prevent injuries, by encouraging flexibility.


WELLNESS AND YOGA

A four-week program of healthy eating, cleansing, and yoga. This is done in conjunction with our 21-Day Purification Cleanse Program. This is ideal for someone who is serious about addressing health and nutrition. Its not just about weight loss, you address sugar addictions, cravings, sleep issues, increase energy and help joint issues to name a few. We will detox our bodies, learn healthy eating habits, and create goals to take us forward into a more satisfying lifestyle. This is a great program to do in small groups! Receive energy healing while enjoying the layering on of essential oils, designed to boost your immune system, reduce inflammation and decrease your stress levels. A wonderfully relaxing experience.
